This town starts white. All of it.

A first-person sandbox about bringing a blank world to life with color. Paint any surface you point at, and it stays painted. And it can build your actual street.

Windows · single player and LAN co-op · no combat, no fail states

A white city street with a single bright pink car

What it is

The world begins blank

Not grey-boxed - finished, detailed, walkable, and completely white. Color is the one thing missing, and you are the one holding it.

So does yours

Type in a real address. The game pulls the map from OpenStreetMap and builds a walkable, paintable copy of it - your street, your school, the corner you grew up on.

And what you paint wakes up

Traffic drives, people walk, weather rolls through, the sun sets. The world you are coloring is already living in it.

Features

Made for people who like a long, calm job

There is nothing to fight and nothing to lose. There is a white world, a brush, and as long as you want.

Paint anything, partly

Paint lands exactly where you point it, so coverage builds up like real paint. A half-painted building is a perfectly good building.

Your street, from the map

Real roads, real buildings, real elevation, generated from OpenStreetMap data and dropped in as a world you can walk.

Towns that build themselves

Procedural cities, suburbs and frontier towns in a range of sizes, plus a hand-built starter world to learn on.

A living world

Cars use the roads, meeples use the sidewalks, trees move in the wind, and the light changes from morning to night.

Time-lapse, built in

The game can film your world while you paint it, one frame at a time, and hand you the whole transformation as a sequence.

Paint together

Host a world on your own machine and let friends join over LAN or a direct connection. Everything anyone paints stays painted.

The studio

FaceySock Studios

FaceySock Studios is a small independent game studio. Paint The World is our first title out the door - a game about the specific pleasure of taking something blank and making it yours, one surface at a time.

Coverage, streams and video are all welcome, monetized or not, no permission needed. There is a press kit with everything in it.
